Mission Abroad targets mission work primarily in third world countries in Asia and the Pacific, providing aid and the gospel.
At present we support the building of a children’s home in North Bangladesh with International Needs
Mission funding from the church as well as fundraising such as quiz nights and movie nights supports this project
We support Orphans Aid International based in Queenstown. A recent project we have supported is a school/ shelter for displaced Indian children whose families have been expelled from Bhutan and are based in Siliguri in West Bengal
In September we take part in the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal, always great fun for families to go shopping for someone who may never have received a gift before.
Every year we have a different Christmas Appeal which supports projects in the third world
We also have a Milk Bottle Appeal at services which goes to support a number of projects which includes a feeding programme for children near a rubbish dump in Yangon and child sponsorship at MUKTI in India
We hope to encourage individuals and groups to go on overseas mission trips to raise awareness and build relationships. We are planning to take a team to Vanuatu to help with a building project and encourage youth mission
