Add this to Calendar

Every Sunday!

For children 3 to 11 years old - two classes.
Teachers use Seasons of the Spirit  which follows the lectionary used in worship.

Children are welcomed by Rainbow Club leaders when they arrive at church.

They actively participate in the first part of worship with the Church Family before leaving with their leaders to attend their Rainbow Club class.

3-6 year olds – Leaders : Helen Wells
7-11 year olds – Leaders: Catherine Little, Jenni McDougall
Support Team – Kath Carter, Lyn Gordon, Doreen Hale, Margaret Stenhouse, Josey McKenzie

The Rainbow Club programme is planned to encourage our children to learn about the life and love of Jesus, to grow in their faith, and apply Jesus’ example in their own lives. Rainbow Club sessions always include a variety of activities such as games, craft, stories, music and art.

Communion

Children are encouraged to participate.
To grow in their understanding of this Sacrament, children share communion in their family group within the Church Family. On Communion Sundays (quarterly), children begin Rainbow Club at 9.30 and then join the service for Communion.

Baptisms/ Dedications

Children participate actively in both, with prepared prayers and special songs. A “welcome” book with contributions from all Rainbow Club children is presented to the child/children baptised/dedicated on that day.

Special Services

In order to grow as an intergenerational Church Family, special family services are planned for our church calendar. (eg National Children’s Day Service, Parish Picnic Service and a special Christmas Celebration Service)

Kids’ Corner

Toddlers and babies are encouraged to be with their family groups throughout the worship service. Toys, books and puzzles are available in a special, spacious ‘kids’ corner’ to help toddlers feel at home during the service.

The Crèche

This room provides a comfortable lounge environment and is well equipped for family members who need to withdraw from the service for infant feeding or time out for toddlers. Audio visual links are provided in the Crèche for continued involvement in the worship service.

Children’s Playtime

The children have their own Morning Teatime at the same time as the adults after morning service. Play and socialising is encouraged; informally supervised in defined hall space. (Our outdoor playground is under development and eagerly awaited.)
